Standard Operating Protocols Manual
- Trucks to proceed to fire location.
- First truck on location to report to 801 base:
- Location of fire
- type of fire
- Action being taken.
- If no structure threatened, then:
- Both trucks attack the fire from two different locations if possible
(at the discretion of the scene commander).
- If structure(s) threatened:
- One truck proceeds to fight grass fire.
- Second truck stays at the threatened structure to protect.
- If fire extensive use wetting agent in tank.
- If multiple structures threatened, request mutual aid (decision rests
with scene incident commander).
- MOP UP: Generally one truck is needed for this. P3 would be sent back to
base.
--Radio this action to 801 base--.
- Last truck does not leave the scene till all fire or embers are
extinguished.
--Radio when leaving to 801 base--
--Radio arrival at the station to 801 base--
- At the hall make sure that the trucks are ready for the next call by:
- Check and top up water level
- Check and top up fuel level
- All electrical in units to be turned off
- Trucks are parked with the emergency brake engaged.
- Any deficiencies put on vehicle report and the call sheet.
