Update: A huge thank you to everyone of you who helped make this year's Community Food Drive so successful!. Thanks! We will get the final numbers later this month, but my back tells me we did at least as well as last year, so .. yay for us! Just a small snag getting the food dropped off, but the key arrived before we left town and all the food was safely delivered Saturday afternoon. If we missed collecting from anyone - sorry - please call me to pick up or stop by the Magrath Pharmacy and we will take your donations in for you ..

Have You Heard the Bell Ringing?

In about 1903-04 the bell was delivered to Magrath from the American Bell Foundry in Michigan The bell company burned down in the 1930s and all records were lost. Jared Mercer, an elementary teacher had the idea to have a bell. Elva (Jim) Harker and Maud (Jack) Rasmussen, asked the other children at the school to bring 25 cents (this was a great deal of money at that time) to help raise the money for the bell.
