Vote Terry Trainer Small Town Hero!
UFA and Paul Brandt are sponsoring a Small Town Hero contest. Terry Trainer has been nominated as Magrath's Small Town Hero. Terry has been an EMT and volunteer Firefighter for the Town of Magrath for almost 20 years.
You can vote for Terry by going to: smalltownheroes.ca. Go to the Nominees Gallery page and under Town, type Magrath. Terry's nomination page will come up. Then all you need to do is vote! You can re-vote every 24 hours. Show the Trainer family that Magrath supports them.

The Magrath Lions Club website has recently been updated. It sports a new 'Joomla' interface and will be used to provide public information as well as internal communications for Lions Club members. Search google for 'Magrath Lions Club' or click magrath-ab.net/lions.

Rod and Gun Club honors best

The top anglers and hunters were honored a few weeks ago as the Magrath Rod and Gun Club hosted its annual banquet on March 22.

Awards are given to the top two anglers and hunters in a variety of categories. Unfortunately there weren't any entries this year in junior trout or pike or senior pike, ducks or moose.

How big is Magrath?

The 2006 Census puts the Population of Magrath at 2081, up from 1993 way back in 2001. Oscar and Hank (of Cornergas fame) would put it at 'about 2100'. It shows us up 4.4% over last census and for the first time over the 2000 person mark. You can see the results for yourself at www.statcan.ca.
