Due to the recent heat wave, most of Southern Alberta, including the County of Cardston and the Town of Magrath are under a provincial fire ban. It currently extends from Pincher Creek to Waterton and across the province east to the border. For details and maps of affected areas, see the provincial fire ban website at albertafirebans.ca. Remember, to report a wildfire call 310-FIRE (3473) or within the Town of Magrath call 911.

Magrath, AB 04 Sep 2006 (Labor Day) - And another big drop to day (finally, yay) - down to 95.4 in Magrath. And now, I can't help but feel we have been being ripped off this past summer. We now sit at a price level not seen for about 3 months and coincidently about the same as last year at this time. Meanwhile, over the past year we dropped to a low of about .78 in Nov and a high of 1.13 last month in Aug. And I fondly remember just 3 years ago when average prices in Alberta were under .59 per litre! How is this not reflected in some major kind of inflation increase?
